October fun

Last Saturday I was up in Spokane for the day with my friend Bekie and her sisters. We went shopping at Target - (a big deal when your from Pullman), went to the Spokane Temple and dinner at Red Robins, and then of to...(drum roll)...Phantom of the Opera. I can't even type it without singing the songs in my head. I had such a fun day just laughing and hanging out, Bekie is one of my closest friends and we always have such a good time together. Her sisters are great too, I love to laugh. . . and they are so funny. I believe it was my first time up in Spokane without Lucy and it was such a nice treat.

While I was up in Spokane Nick got together with Bekie's husband, Brett, they took all the girls to a pumpkin patch. They had a great time and the next day Lucy was talking about going back again. Too bad it was only open for that weekend. Lucy, Claire & Lailie (in the stroller)

I have a couple other ideas for the next 2-1/2 weeks too. I'm loving this time of year and starting to let the creative juices flow...okay, so I'm not really creative,
but I copy everyone else creative ideas.

Grandma & Grandpa for a visit...

Nicks parents got to come up for the weekend. They came up Thursday night and stayed until Monday mid morning. I had a terrible cold for the whole time, so it was nice to have the help, but I felt so bad! I wish I could have gone out and done more fun things with them.

Nick, his parents and Lucy did get to go to the Raptor Club's expo-type-thingy up at the University. They rescue hurt birds and take them in. They had eagles, owls, hawks, and many more birds. I was kind of disappointed I didn't get to go, but it was the "first annual" so I'm assuming it will be here again next year.

Then Saturday evening Nick's Mom & I took Lucy to see the Children's Theater production of The Little Mermaid...Lucy danced and clapped her way through the show - it was a hit!

Of coarse we didn't get that many pictures, because we never do. These pictures of Grandma & Lucy were just too cute though!
I am just so grateful for family! It's nice to have them come visit and for Lucy to get to know them and love them. Thanks for all you do!!

a tutu for my Lulu

Well this isn't MY idea - in fact I just found it blog surfing. I'm good at copying other peoples good ideas...and Lucy LOVES this! She wore it from morning to night on Conference Sunday. I had to hide it so it wouldn't get too trashed before Halloween. You can find the step-by-step here...but it is really easy! I bought my tulle at Joannes because honestly I'm a novice and don't always think...Walmart is 1/2 the price and has way more colors. I'll remember that for the next time that I make one. Oh, also for the elastic hair band make sure it doesn't have the grippy no-slip stuff on it! That made a lot harder.

The girl that I copied it from mentioned maybe doing it in yellow and black for a cute, fancy bumble bee, wouldn't that be too cute!!!

I didn't think Oreo's could get any better!

I made these Sunday and boy are they good! Enjoy!

Peanut Butter, Marshmallow, Chocolate Covered Oreos

12 Oreo Cookies
12 teaspoons peanut butter
12 Tablespoons Marshmallow Cream
1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 Tablespoons heavy cream

1. Place Oreos onto a wax paper covered baking sheet. Spoon peanut butter evenly over Oreos, spreading gently. With cookie scoop, place marshmallow cream over peanut butter layer. Place entire baking sheet of oreos into freezer for 30 minutes or until firm.

2. Place chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals until chips are melted. Stir in heavy cream until shiny and smooth. If not smooth, add a touch more cream until smooth and shiny. Spoon chocolate over cookies, spreading carefully around edges. **If marshmallow cream starts peeking through a few minutes after coating with chocolate, just add additional chocolate over white areas.**

3. Place in refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes and serve. Keep any leftovers in refrigerator.
