Welcome Fall

Lucy & her best friend Claire - two cute ballerina's
& Lailie the chicken

I can’t believe I haven’t posted pictures of Halloween yet – I mean does anyone even care anymore? Lucy & her (best) friend Claire were both ballerina’s and were A-DOR-ABLE! Seriously! My sister Amanda had come down from B.C. to spend the holiday with us and it was so nice to have her here. She certainly spoiled little Lucy for her birthday with a ton of really cute clothes! Most of the outfits she bought Lucy I want in my size, they are so comfy cozy! Thank you Auntie Amanda, we love you and miss you!

Oh, Another first for me happened recently…I canned without my Aunt Sonya!! I know this may not be a big deal for many of you, but it is for me. I have canned most summers for as long as I can remember, but I've never done it without my Aunt. My Aunt is a serious canner…she cans everything! If you think you have your serious canner in your family, double their obsession, and that’s my Aunt! Her life revolves around canning and genealogy, and nothing else. I had acquired 2 boxes of yummy apples (thank you Matt) and knew we had to make applesauce. I basically know how to do canning, but I’ve never felt confident doing it without my Aunt to tell me what to do. I asked my best girlfriend here in Pullman to do it with me, she’d never canned either. So we borrowed what we needed (thank you to Rachel Ritter!) and I brought all my jars & lids and Bekie & I CANNED apple sauce. It is so yummy too – I love it!! The experience actually helped me realize that I really do know what I’m doing. Bekie was a great canning partner and I can’t wait to get a good start next year.

Nothing like welcoming fall with fresh homemade applesauce.

Goodbye Summer, We'll miss you. See you next year.

Those are the cutest pictures of all of you!
Amanda had the best time visiting with you and having quality time there.
I love the costumes, Claire's face cracks me up everytime I look at that picture of the two of them!

Glad you were able to use them. Matt told me the story and I must admit that I was a bit bummed not to be able to enjoy them myself but oh well. I just hope you enjoyed a couple of fresh ones for me!:)
